Membership Update as of 2/3/10:

Membership numbers to date are well below last year's membership number, except for faculty memberships.  Currently over 95% of the Faculty have joined the PTA, but only 220 parent households have joined.  With over 1,150 families at FMS, that number is inexcusable.  This means that over 75% of our students DO NOT have a parent who is a PTA member.  Our ability to sustain and build on our membership base is a vital part of our being able to successfully meet our goals for the year. If you are not a current PTA member, I'm appealing to you to join today using the Membership Form link below.

PTA Membership

The Franklin Middle PTA, Inc. is in place to make your child's middle school experience as positive as possible. We rely on our membership dues, fundraising, and volunteer support throughout the year to continue this tradition. Membership fees remain at $9.00 per person for the 2009-2010 school year. In past years, if both parents wanted to join, they each had to pay the $9 dues. For this year we are offering additional family memberships at a discounted rate of $6.00.  We strongly urge all parents, and any other adults in the household, to join the PTA!

Your dues include membership in not only the FMS PTA, but also, Baltimore County PTA (also known as County Council); Maryland PTA; and National PTA. The National PTA offers many benefits to its members, such as discounts at Barnes & Noble; discounts on insurance through Liberty Mutual; discounted membership to the MedicAlert Foundation; discounts on Sharp Electronics; discounted vacation packages through Southwest Airlines; T-Mobile discounts; and more! REMINDER:  If you do not join the PTA, you will not receive any future newsletters.  Remember that the school does not send home newsletters, so the PTA newsletter if your one source for FMS news and information.
